  1. 3-18-94                    Manual Connect

  3.      To  make  a direct connect, IE: you are talking on the phone,  on  the
  4. same  phone line as the modem, and you want the modems to connect.  On  one
  5. end you type ATX1D (in terminal mode) and the other end does ATA  (answer).
  6.      Then  you  may use the menus (upload/download) to transfer  files.  To
  7. cause  the modem to hangup, type +++ and wait for an OK. Then type ATH  and
  8. the  modem will hang up, allowing voice communications once  more.

  10.     If  you are talking on the phone line or have a FAX machine plugged  in
  11. by  a direct wire to the modem, press the START button on the machine  then
  12. use the software Hot-key (see your manual) to start receiving the fax.

  14.     Or, if you are going direct to a Fax machine from a Faxmodem, then use
  15. the  same ATX1D as a dial prefix, and send the fax normally. When  you  see
  16. the fax is trying to connect, press the rec'v (or start) button on the  fax
  17. machine. Some fax machines may not work, needing a RING to answer.
